It’s only September, and the season for Birthday Parties and other celebrations has begun, and I don’t think this will stop until after the holiday season. Tonight, eight of us gather to celebrate our friend’s birthday…
Celebrate in style…
Shooters is one of Fort Lauderdale’s finest dining experiences. Inside or on the extensive dock with killer views, you should have your celebration here.
Why? simply because of the food.
The views are great, both inside and outside, but the high level of culinary delight is why you should be here. We started off the night with a pair of Bloody Marys which added to the festive mood of our party, as our conversation continued, our main course was delivered.
They offer a raw oyster selection as part of their extensive seafood offerings, and next time I hope to sample such delicacies. On this night, however, I tried their “Flash Fried Mahi Tacos.” The kitchen was able to change my order slightly so instead of “flash frying”, I was able to have the Mahi grilled (so much healthier.) Other than that, the dish was kept to the original specifications. It was excellent and for a Latin (Mexican) flavor concept they did a great job, on top of that, I’ve never had “elote” at a restaurant that had a roof. Elote is corn on the cob as Mexican “street” food. Shooters made it the right way, with plenty of mayonnaise, cheese, and the traditional seasoning(s).
Traditional Steaks, Seafood, & Vegetarian Dishes.
My wife ordered the all-vegetarian “Bucatini Mi Amore,” a pasta dish with heavy vegetarian influences. If you were to travel to Italy and meet up with vegan and vegetarian friends I could imagine this would be one of the offerings. Sundried tomatoes and olives gave it the Italian flair, topped off with artichokes and Sautéed shallots, it could almost make the most hardened carnivore forget about meat.
More than one of our party ordered the Salmon. This is what I wish I would have ordered. Not that my Mahi Tacos were bad, because they were excellent, but this just looked so appealing. Plated on a bed of baby spinach and Israeli couscous, this was definitely the food porn of the night. You can bet our friends ate every bit of it.
Service was top notch and overall the experience was beyond compare. While I do wish the checks could have been split up, our party had a wonderful experience and I’ve been there before and will certainly return. One word of wisdom, take advantage of their complimentary valet parking instead of the nearby garage.
