Graduate from a kit Salad

lrg_dsc09767I have to admit I love the “kit” salads they sell in Publix and Walmart. I mean how easy is that, you buy a ready-made salad, use your knife to open the bag (or scissors), dump it on a plate and you’re done!

But holy S**T that is boring.

Why get the dump when you can create your own amazing salad instead. Like what I did here.

It should only take about 15-20 minutes to create your dream salad. My ingredients include:

  • lrg_dsc09764Arugula Lettuce
  • One (or ½) onion
  • Cucumber
  • Tomato
  • Parsley
  • Feta Cheese (crumbles)
  • Olives
  • Fruit (for added flavor) in my case a peach.

And here are the instructions, in case you need them.

lrg_dsc09766Chop everything basically as thin as you can, while leaving the lettuce (no pun intended) a little larger. Then mix, toss and shake in a large bowl and serve.

There is no reason why you have to settle for a pre-made salad when you can easily make your own.

Note: on the top photo I added tuna for protein.
