Ok, so we may be a bit late with this news but Zen Mystery Organic Cafe in Dania Beach, Florida is back.
The unique vegan cafe which offers musicians, healings, and readings, was closed suddenly due to a wall falling out in the building at its location in Dania Beach. It took about 6 months for it to be cleared to be safe to re-enter the nearly 100-year-old building. Now Zen Mystery has returned and is better than ever.
If you are in the community who loves new age ideas and practices you’ll love Zen Mystery. Crystals and other ‘healing items’ are on display and for sale, and you’ll frequently come across like-minded people as well as events themed along those lines.
But there is an even better reason to visit Zen Mystery Organic Cafe – The food!
Zen Mystery has a rare menu for South Florida. All of its food is not just organic, it’s completely vegan. In other words no processed sugars, grains, or anything else.
This is food that you should be eating on a much more regular basis.
Sure I love lots of foods, clearly most of which are not vegan. But I appreciate the vegan mentality of food. You do want to keep your food and diet as clean as possible. You really don’t need to consume all the processed unhealthy food that the typical American does. While I was there we had vegan tuna and hummus and chips, as well as a cherry chocolate pie, and yes that was vegan too, with no processed sugar.
I’m so glad they are back and open once again. They have a limited schedule right now, but I expect them to be back to their pre-wall hours soon enough. Right now they are only open on Friday and Saturday nights according to their website, but I believe they are open more frequently than that.
I’m also going to recommend, aside from their amazing food, the Brazilian music night with Cindo Santos which we attended on this visit. Their future events include Zen Meditation, Sound Healings, and Open Mic Nights.
