Ok, we are a bit late with the news, but DiSalvo’s Hollywood Pizza and Italian Restaurant is back after being closed due to fire.
I’m not sure of how bad the fire was, but on the inside not much as changed, the latticework on what could have been called the inside patio is gone. I do miss that illusion of separation, but aside from that, the newer and cleaner look is not that much different than before.
But one thing certainly has NOT changed at DiSalvo’s Hollywood Pizza and Italian Restaurant. The food.
The food is back and yes it is as good as ever, if not better. I love DiSalvos. It’s reasonably priced, family-friendly and authentic. The garlic bread is without a doubt the best I’ve ever had in ANY Italian restaurant. It’s so good, that even the next day cold from the refrigerator it was beyond compare.
The dinner entrees are fantastic as well. I’d highly recommend the linguine with red clam sauce. It’s a large meal with lots of chopped clams on top (in the sauce) and as a bonus, actual clams too. It’s enough, at least for me, to have a second meal the next day, which is exactly what I did. At our table, we also had the chicken marsala, spaghetti marinara, and eggplant Parmigiana. The only thing missing was pizza. By the way, if you’re close by, order their pizza for pick-up or delivery. Not only will you be supporting a local small business, you’ll also be getting a much better pizza than what your ‘papa’ or some “hut” could ever dream of making.
Now that they are open again, try to stop by and welcome them back to the neighboorhood.
