One of the not-so-secret secrets of Fort Lauderdale is the Boatyard restaurant. Located right on the intercoastal, this is one of those see and be seen places.
Well known for its half-price happy hour and ladies night specials, the Boatyard is a popular place for singles (and their friends) who are looking to meet other upscale singles. Thursday evenings offer free drinks to women from 7 to 10pm, but the happy hour is on from 4-7pm Monday to Friday. Their happy hour not only includes their well-made drinks, but it also includes some of their amazing dishes.
On a recent visit we sat at the outside bar when some very nice patrons moved over so we could all sit together – yes there are still some nice people in South Florida, we had a few of their legendary drinks. We did not partake in food this evening, though we have on other occasions, the drinks were fantastic and alone could be a great reason to visit.
If you’re single, this might be one of the best places to meet and greet, but even if your not, (I’m very happily married) the food and the views are still outstanding. I’m planning on having a full dinner there soon, and I’ll update this post accordingly.
