It’s Sunday Morning and we all are getting into the Studebaker for a drive into the mountains of Oregon, but before we leave Portland we have to make just one stop… The Original Pancake House.
Wait, this isn’t 1953, and we are not in Portland Oregon or even Portland Maine for that matter. And I’m sure most of my readers don’t even know what a Studebaker was, which is why I have the photo to prove such a thing did exist…
In the meantime, we are in 2019, and we don’t have flying cars yet, but we still have The Original Pancake House. Of course, it’s a franchise now with over 100 restaurants, and one of them is in Adventura.
You may not ever get to drive in a Studebaker in your life, but you can come and get pancakes here any day of the week. These pancakes are made just like your grandmother would make them. Things are made fresh right in the restaurant with simple wholesome ingredients such as 93 score butter, pure whipping cream, hard wheat unbleached flour, a signature sourdough, and fresh eggs.
This is the stuff that Sunday mornings or any mornings are made for, a filling breakfast at a restaurant with a great attentive staff. When we went, the restaurant was full, but our breakfast came at a reasonable time anyway.
Naturally, I’ll highly recommend the pancakes which you can get prepared in a number of ways. I also had mine with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. It was exactly what we needed before we went on our way to the farmers market Aventura Mall. Ironically Aventura mall does have a farmers market that I would love to get to.
Next time you’re in Aventura and you’re hangry, stop on into The Original Pancake House, it’s worth the trip and worth the short wait. Prices are very reasonable as well.

They sound wonderful (I want one) and that Studebaker looks fantastic (I want one of those as well!) – Great post!
